The first thing many people do is put off the activity of actually getting organized. They feel like to get organized but each time the thought rolls around they find a reason not to do it that day. Maybe people put off taking on the task since they feel it is too big a job... who knows. But, for most individuals, they let excuses get in the way f starting the task. I believe that is called procrastination, right? What you need to do is just start. Take the first step. Stop putting it off and dig right in. The second thing that will doom any getting organized endeavor is failure to have a representation. Go through each room and make a list. Write down what you would like the room to look like when finished. Write down all the things that are in the way of that happening. Do you need to throw things away? Do some things need to be stored? Do you need to build or purchase something for things to be more organized? Answering these questions will facilitate you get a scheme for each room. Once your plan is put together it is time to begin. A few individuals actually get to this stage and then it still all falls apart. The reason for that is that they are not focused. If you want to get organized you should become focused and stay focused. Start with one room and one task and finish it. Don't allow yourself to become distracted and start a second or third or fourth task. If you do that, which many people do, you get nothing finished and just a lot of tasks started. What it ends up doing is creating even more of a mess and cluttered and you are less organized than you were to at the start. Getting organized does not have to be difficult. We just make it that way because we keep doing these three things. Give these suggestions a try and you will be on your way to finally, becoming organized and living with less stress.
