Top Gear Presenter In Crash

A Top Gear star has been involved in a car accident while driving his exclusive supercar, it has been revealed.

The BBC presenter was apparently involved in a four-car incident at the Over Roundabout on the A40 near Gloucester.

The celeb was in his £110,000 Morgan Aeromax at the time of the collision. It is thought that the accident happened on Saturday lunchtime, and is said to have involved a BMW 3 Series, a Volvo 40, and A Nissan Almera.

The presenter is believed to have been on his way home from a flying lesson when the car accident happened. A spokesperson for the show said that there was a "damage only" accident involving four cars at the roundabout requiring no action from police officers.

An eyewitness stated: "Someone braked sharply in front of him and then a number of cars went into the back of each other."

He noted that the presenter "was at the back of the line and he received no damage to his rear end but the front was in a pretty bad way.

Everyone got out and exchanged details and there was some good-humoured banter exchanged by the drivers after they realised it was him."

Sergeant Paul Whale of Gloucestershire police confirmed the vehicles were involved but said no prosecution was being launched.

He said: "There was a collision between four vehicles at approximately 12:30pm, but there were no injuries. It was all settled between the parties involved, who exchanged insurance details.

No prosecution has been requested by anyone involved, and there was no recovery requested, so all vehicles involved must have driven away from the scene. Police attended the scene only to deal with traffic build-up."

The Morgan AeroMax has a 4.8 litre BMW V8 engine and is capable of speeds of up to 170mph. It is hand-built in a style reminiscent of luxury cars from the 1930s and some have compared it to the Batmobile in the recent Batman films.

Top Gear not on top

It seems that the popular Top Gear franchise is under a curse, as its Australian presenter also received personal injuries after being involved in a car accident.

The co-host apparently shocked race goers at Sydney’s Eastern Creek raceway this weekend, when he survived a crash in which his car flipped two and a half times in the air.

The former race driver and motoring commentator walked away with just a "humdinger of a headache and a sore neck" after he was involved in the collision.

The presenter was a guest in the Aussie Racing Cars super series, which was held as the introduction to the Australian Superbikes Series.

"On the last lap the two guys in front of me banged wheels and hit me. I've got caught up in it and it's caused me to flip - I guess you would say two and a half times, because the cars ended up on its roof," said the television star.

The high-speed crash destroyed the car's fibreglass shell but the internal steel frame remained largely intact, saving him from potentially life-threatening injuries.

Recently, Jeremy Clarkson, another Top Gear host, stated that young motorists should be warned of the dangers of driving and should be educated about road safety.

"Teenagers see Bruce Willis driving his car into a helicopter and imagine that you can get out afterwards and still be well enough to punch a baddy in the face.

"This isn't accurate. I emerged from my high speed head-on impact in what can only be described as screaming agony. I couldn't walk. I couldn't talk. I couldn't think

"Everyone should experience this before they are given a licence. It would let them know that crashes really really hurt and that it would be a good idea to not have one," he said.
