Tourism Attraction Around Medan Tuanku
As a landmark of Malaysia, KL Tower gives visitors the opportunity to view the magnificient of Kuala Lumpur City in a glance once they are in the top of the tower. There are paid binoculars that are located on each section of the tower. The tower is opened daily from 9:00am to 10:00pm. Last admission to the tower is at 9:30pm. There is a restaurant called Seri Angkasa Revolving Restaurant where visitors can dine and enjoy the beautiful scenery and glittering lights of the city of Kuala Lumpur. There is also colourful cultural performances from Thursdays to Sundays at 11:30am and 4:00pm. Visitors can take a walk at the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve and enjoy the oldest forest reserve in the city. There are jogging tracks, open-air gymnasium, birds and a fantastic view of the city from this park. Guided tour at regular interval is provided but remember to bring along towel as it can be quite humid and hot in the afternoon. The National Art Gallery Known in Malay language as Balai Seni Lukis Negara, this gallery displays paintings, sculptures, batik and other works done by artists from Malaysia and all over the world. Today, this building house more than 2,500 works of art that you can appreciate and admire while you are in the city of Kuala Lumpur. Other exhibits that you can see here are the experimental works and touring exhibitions with different themes every now and then. If you are new to art, this is a good place to see for yourself and be aware of the happenings in the world of art. The building is located between the National Library and Istana Budaya , a modern state-of-the-art where performances are held regularly. It was Officially opened by former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Mahathir Mohammad on September, 16 2000 with a total space of 13,000 sq m. Facilities that are available here include: 5 galleries of exhibits. A Resource centre. An Auditorium. An outdoor exhibition area. A creative centre for workshops. A Cafeteria. As an agency under the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, this centre is one of the biggest one in South East Asia where the it endeavor to support the work of arts by Malaysian artists. Exhibitions are also being organised by National Art Gallery overseas to help nurture the local artists in the international arena. Apart from that, the gallery also host seminars, workshops and organised art competitions to encourage the appreciation of art among artists, students and the general public. Getting Here Take the STAR LRT and stop at Titiwangsa Station. Take a taxi from here. You can also reach here by taking a 20 to 25 minutes walk from the station. Take the PUTRA LRT and stop at KLCC Station. Take a taxi from here. You will probably see the blue colour Istana Budaya building before reaching this place. If you are driving, you can park your car at the car park in Istana Budaya and walk here. KLCC The 50-acre tropical landscape in the heart of the KLCC development provides an urban sanctuary for all. The public park reflects the tropical greenery, vibrant colours and patterns of the country's rich cultural heritage while its calm setting help dissipate the tensions of city living. The park is unique in its theme and concept. This verdant area accentuated with specially designed water features is a work of art. The park is a master piece conceptualised by the world renowned Brazilian landscape artist, the late Roberto Burle Marx. The green space of the KLCC Park are carefully contrived to dispel the notion of the garden as a static creation. The order imposed by Burle Marx's art transforms the natural topography into an art form. It features various amenities such as a two-acre children's playground, symphony fountain, wading pool, jogging track, shelters and benches, patterned foot-paths and sculptures. Approximately 1,900 indigenous trees and palms representing 74 species are planted to encourage bio-diversities within the park areas. Out of this number, some 40 trees were preserved and transplanted from the former Selangor Turf Club. Another striking feature of the park is the Lake Symphony which comprises two water fountains. Located at the esplanade outside Suria KLCC, the Lake Symphony is programmed to provide 150 magical dramatic animations. The total effect is a light hearted and gregarious atmosphere. petrosains PETROSAINS is an interactive Science Discovery Centre that presents a story of science and technology of the petroleum industry in a fun way. The concept and content not only revolve specifically around petroleum science, but also embrace all other aspects of general sciences.
