Toyota To Race Its Hybrid At Le Mans

Toyota Racing is all in with its commitment to develop and rely on hybrid technology. To this end it has built a pair of TS03 HYBRID racers to compete in the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship.

Toyota Racing is following its flagship company’s lead when it comes to embracing hybrid motors. The Japanese automaker has sold more than 3.5 million hybrid vehicles across the globe and, as of the time of this writing, it is the only automaker that has entered a hybrid drive train into the FIA Championship.

In addition to competing at the championship race series, the 3.4-liter V8 normally aspirated petrol unit TS030 HYBRID is slated to turn the tracks at both the Six Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans.
