Tracking Your Information

If you're serious about pursuing a new business venture to build an additional or replacement income stream you need to choose a venture that will be profitable and then you need to guide that venture into the highest profitability possible.

90% of all new businesses fail in the first year or so. You don't want to be part of that statistic Several of the things you can do to minimize that possibility are: Keep your expenses to a minimum. Only make major purchases from profits. Develop as many income sources as you can from your business venture.

Now, if your business venture includes marketing on the Internet open your mind to the possibilities of conventional Internet Marketing.

What is conventional Internet Marketing? There are scores of people who have made their presence on the Internet and offer you information on how to improve your presence. These people are loosely referred to as "Internet Gurus."

Many of these people make all kinds of information available to people. Google any one of the main ingredients of Internet Marketing - Search Engine Optimization, List Building, Internet Marketing and you will get many leads for places to go to for information.

While you're taking advantage of their information to build your presence you can also join their Affiliate networks. That gives you the ability to offer their products to your readers. Everytime one of your leads/readers purchases one of those products, you get a commission.

Affiliate Marketing is a very important avenue to pursue. That path allows you to offer credible products quickly while you're learning what you need to learn about how to successfully offer products on the Internet.

As you access the information that the "Gurus" are willing to share with you, you will wonder what to do with it all and where to put it.

Now you can do the standard read and delete, but I guarantee that within a week or two you'll wish you had printed the information and knew where to find it.

Most of the information comes in PDF files and you can print the information, but you can not edit it. The problem is that you could go through a printer cartridge every couple of days if you printed all of the information in total.

Add to that the fact that a significant amount of the information is repetitive and good sense would dictate that you need to be selective about what you print to keep and you need to take notes on the rest.

Three-ring binders with subject dividers work very well. Spiral notebooks per subject also do a good job of keeping information separate. With a spiral notebook I use a mailing label folded out over the side edge of paper to create a tab to write the subject matter of that page and leave a couple of pages behind it blank.

When you look back over the information six months from now you'll be amazed at how much you've learned in that time. You can then sift through what you need to keep and what you can get rid of.

When the offerings come into my email box I look them over if I have time. If not, I date and save the message and then go back to peruse them when I do have time.

This is where the spiral notebooks are invaluable. Do not scratch bits and pieces of information on scraps of paper. Put the information somewhere you're going to be able to find it.

Peruse the sales pages and write down the nuggets of information that are there. Read the PDF files and take notes. Print pages that have good information and takes notes on other pages. Write the name of the document in your notes and when you've reviewed it, transfer the PDF file to a disk to save it. Then you can take it off your main drive.

Unfortunately, the more of this information you store on your computer, the slower everything is going to run. Once you've digested the information, made your notes and referenced it's locaiton, take it off of the computer and use your space and speed to do business.
