Travel Exercise - Equipment For The Road

When you’re going on the road doesn’t mean you have to abandon your workout routine. There are plenty of exercises you can do right in and out of your hotel room.

If you’ve got some extra space in your suitcase you could even bring a few small, lightweight pieces if equipment.

If the place you’re staying has a fitness center by all means take advantage of it. If there happens to be a pool use that as well.

But if you’re on your own, sticking with some basic exercises should get you through until you’re able to get back on track at home.

Exercises that can be done almost anywhere are push ups, chair dips, sit ups, jumping jacks, and all the like. Don’t forget all of the variations for each of these exercises.

Get out of the room for awhile and take a walk, go for a jog, maybe you could rent a bicycle.

Bringing some equipment can add to the hotel room workout. I don’t mean bring your entire weight set, but a few smaller items will do the trick.

Resistance bands are perfect. One, two or if you have the room, three, different resistance levels is fine. They are quiet and you can lay them right on top of your clothes before closing your suitcase.

Hand grip trainers are also good for travel. I even keep these in my car. Again quiet, small and lightweight.

Take your DVD program with you. As long as your room has a player in it you’ll be all set.

Don’t forget to eat right too. Being on the road doesn’t mean you have to stop your fitness routine. Stick with it. You’ll be glad you did when you get back home.
