Travelling Tips On Indian Wilderness

Most Indian National Parks require an entry permit that can easily be obtained at the gate from the respective administration centers at at nominal charges.

Carry all the essential documents along with the visa and passport with you.


Wear comfortable clothes and comfortable walking shoes. Avoid heavy perfumes and bright clothes.

Follow the rules of the park to avoid being penalized and respect the instructions of the guide carefully for your own safety.

Do not smoke inside the park. After the camp fire put timber on it avoid the risk of fire in the forests or parks.

Do not throw alcoholic bottles on the jungle safaris. Throw all your waste in the garbage bin or carry it out of the park.

Carry all the essentials – first aid box, sunscreens, mosquito repellent, torch lights, spare batteries, hats, mineral water bottles.

Do not disturb the animals and do not try to feed the animals.

Donot forget to carry the camera along with you. The binoculars are most important if you want to enjoy the birding tour.

Do not accept food and drink from strangers. They might be a ploy to rob you for your valuables.

Keep all your important documents and valuables in the deposit box of the hotel.

Move around in the groups rather than moving alone. Womens should avoid going out in the dark.

No permission is required for the ordinary photography or the video cameras. But it is necessary to take prior permit for filming. The application should be made at the Indian Embassy in your country of Residence.

Tipping is the inherent part of life in India. It is the common practice to tip the drivers, resort waiters and guides.

Take the prior information about the National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries to enhance your experience. Otherwise it's best to carry the well trained official guide along with yourself. He give the better insights of the parks.

Do not use plastic bags inside the park.

Do not play radios or musical devices inside the park.

Do not make loud noises, keep the volume slow while talking and do vnot throw stone at animals or birds.

Vehicles must not blow horn. Vehicles must stay at th specified limit to the animals.
