Treating Acne Vulgaris

Acne vulgaris is most commonly referred to as acne. It's a skin problem that may start during the teenage years and continue until a person is an adult. Since analyzing this problem, we have already developed various method to cure it. Still, thousands suffer from this skin problem.

What you must understand is that acne is different from a pimple. If you have one bump on your face, then that's just a simple pimple. However, an acne would arise if you have numerous pimples on your face.

Acne usually sets in when a person enters their teenage years. This is because the skin starts to secrete lots of oil. Hence, the pore gets blocked and accumulates dirt, causing the pimple. It seems that more women are affected by acne, however, male acne are worse when triggered. When treating your acne, here are some things you might want to know.

Treatment of Acne Vulgaris
The severity of the condition usually predicts the acne vulgaris treatment used. For mild acne, those products with benzyl peroxide should be enough. Sometimes, even homemade treatments work well for this. Most common products found at home that can be used to fight acne include milk, oatmeal, cucumber and even garlic.

However, severe acne requires much more serious measures. Antibiotics that include erythromycin, clindamycin and tetracycline are usually used for acne vulgaris treatment. However, these can only be taken as prescribed by professionals.

Preventing Acne Vulgaris
The usual approach here would be to get rid of the pimples and then take measures so that they wont' grow back. Learning how to stop acne is actually easier. By simply keeping your pores clean and unclogged, you could significantly reduce the growth of pimples. In fact, if you want to find out how to stop acne, then just continue what you're doing for treatment. You could use both toners and cleansers for this. Also, try eating healthy since this also effects acne.

One thing I have noticed is that people who exercise regularly are less prone on acne breakouts. The reason for this is that sweat turns into a cleanser that flushed out the toxins in our body. Just make sure that a shower immediately follows an exercise. Make sure not to rub your face forcefully when drying.

Removing Scars
If you already have scars due to acne, don't lose hope yet. Orange peels, lemon and cucumber have been known to remove acne scars effectively. Also, you can find that there are products on the market that can lighten scars.

There is also another treatment for scars that we call dermabrasion. This basically scrapes the surface of the skin so that new ones can grow. However, it can be painful and the new skin doesn't appear automatically.
