The best sport for middle aged men is fly fishing. It is a very peaceful and silent sport and if you are not up to jumping and exerting energy you can take up this sport. For one thing, you don't have much to learn for fly fishing and the second thing is that you can spend a whole day and still feel rested. However, this sport does require a lot of patience and impatient people cannot do much in fishing. Here are a few fly fishing tips that will make you get the hang of the basics. The rest is up to you and how patient you are.

There are three or four main things before you begin to fish. First you must have the right equipment; you must know the right place where there is plenty of fish. Then there is the way of casting to actually flying fish.

For the right equipment, you need to know that if you are beginner, get a rod made of material that is not hard to maintain, nor too heavy.

Bamboo or wooden rods need a lot of care so as a beginner, it is not recommended. A glass rod is good for first time fishing enthusiast.

Casting needs to be practice and throwing with all your might, the fishing line, might not help if you do not have practice. Experienced fishermen do not make noise while casting and sit still for hours to catch the fish.

Casting also depends upon the type of line attached to the fishing rod. It should be the right size and material and should fit in the fishing rod well enough. You cannot cast well if the line is not firm and right sized. One you've are done with casting you need to relax and do not sit with tense muscle because fishing will take hours and people who cannot sit still will have trouble catching fish.

These are a few fly fishing tips which are good for people who are just beginning to take up fishing as a hobby. But do not forget that it is a very time consuming task and not many people are successful at first. But do not lose hope as this sport is meant for a long lazy Sunday or an off day when you can leisure around, catch some fish and have fun. It should be taken as a sport and if you don't actually catch fish at the end of the day, then go home with sportsman spirit.
