If you are in business, you are often told to set your goals first. It is the same with your life. If you fail to do so, you are likely to be stressed and it will affect your sense of well being. The route to success is building healthy relationships and for that, you need to have self-esteem, develop a semblance of assertiveness and learn how to handle conflict and face confrontation.

If you want to achieve something, you need to take a stand on what you believe and work towards it. Flowing with the current means that you do not have a mind of your own, which in turn means you do not have what it takes to succeed in life, the human propensity to do whatever it takes to achieve a goal. If you have the potential and know that you can achieve something big, it is no use playing it small. If you do that, you will keep settling for less than what you deserve and over time, it will keep getting lesser and lesser. Remember that what you are doing today is what will set you up for something bigger and what you really deserve.

To succeed you have to value yourself and never be afraid to act on your dreams and goals, you cannot afford to keep them on the back burner. It is you, and you alone, who has to act and make an effort to succeed because no one is going to come and wave a magic wand for you.
