It was precisely half a decade ago the first ever tweet that was send across by Jack Dorsey, who apparently is twitter's co-founder and chairmen read, "inviting co-workers". By way of stats released by Twitter for its celebration of its fifth anniversary, averages of 140 million tweets are sent on a daily basis which has ascended by about a 100 million, which were figures just a year ago. There has been an increase of more than 460,000 new accounts on a daily basis recorded over the last month whilst the number of mobile Twitter users has also risen by a staggering 182 per cent in the year gone by. Furthermore, the company has not issued information on how many people actually use the service through their phones. At this stage, the company is 400 heads strong but just three years back in 2008; it was doing business with an eight member staff. Here’s some interesting insight, 456 tweets were sent every second when Michael Jackson passed away on 25th June, 2009 which was considered a all time high for the service providers. This record was then broken in Japan four second after midnight on New Year’s Day 2011 when a mind boggling 6939 tweets were broadcasted in a second.
