One of the most unique television series to come about in a while, the Pushing Daisies TV show is about life, love, and solving murders by bringing victims back from the dead. The main character, Ned, had discovered as a child that he had the ability to resurrect things that have passed on. The show has enjoyed two seasons and has won Emmy Awards, but unfortunately the network has decided to pull the plug on the series two seasons is all that fans will get.
However, the new twist placed on a romantic crime solving show was enough to keep critics and fans delighted for those two seasons. The main character finds out that he possessed this talent of his when he was a child he revived his golden retriever, Digby after he was hit by a truck. He later also brings his mother back to life after she dies of an aneurysm. Sadly, when his mother gives Ned a good night kiss later she dies. This is how Ned learns of the other part of his talent that anyone who he has brought back to life will die permanently again if he touches them a second time. In the Pushing Daisies TV show, Ned is sent to boarding school by his father after his mother dies.
Ned becomes the owner of a restaurant called The Pie Hole and is also the head pie maker. His restaurant is financially strapped when a private investigator named Emerson discovers the talent that Ned has. In the Pushing Daisies TV show, the two team up to revive murder victims to reveal who their murderers were and cash in on the rewards for solving the cases. After finding out who murdered the victims, Ned touches them once more to send them back to sleep and Emerson reveals to the public the solved crimes details, and he and Ned then share the reward monies.
Everything seems fine in the Pushing Daisies TV show until Ned brings his childhood sweetheart back to life after she is murdered. Once she is awake, he cannot bear to send her back to the grave so he lets the sixty seconds pass without touching her again (and the funeral director nearby dies in her place). She eventually joins the detective and Ned and encourages them to use Neds gift not only for profit, but also for good as well. Unfortunately, although the girl (Charlotte, or Chuck) make a great, romantic team, Ned can never touch her or she will die again and that time will be for good. Thus launches two seasons of the Pushing Daisies TV show.
