'Tequila', the term itself makes us feel high! For those who have not tasted this intoxicating drink yet, have the desire to do so always. We often hear people taking tequila shot when they are at a pub, disc or night club, even at a party. Doesn't it feel awesome while you take the shot with a pinch of salt rolling inside your mouth? But how many of us actually know about its history, flavors or types? There are very few people who would be able to tell you all about it. For instance, did you know that to make tequila you need to first start with blue agave plant which in fact takes nearly ten years to mature completely? Tequila is only produced in Mexico and in the area of tequila. The drink can be produced only if the norms for tequila placed by the Mexican Government are followed. The drink was once a man's thing. Earlier only a man would be making it. The women were not fond of it. The drink was sold only in the regions of Mexico. But by the 1990s it had spread in other parts of the US. 1.Oro - Oro or gold is a well renowned type of this drink. Gold tequila gets its color after maturing in the oak barrel, if that is 100% agave. The color of gold can also be brought if flavors like caramel are added. This tequila type is mostly used in making margaritas.
2.Blanco - Blanco or silver is another kind of popular tequila drink. This is a drink which is not matured. It's a kind of tequila which is fresh, clear and traditional. It is also known as white tequila. The flavor is strong and the drink is gulped down from a shot glass called caballito.
3.Reserva - This is one of the most popular tequilas available in the market. Reserva is popular amongst people because of its smooth taste. Yet, this drink is also one of the most expensive that is available.
4.Reposado - This is a type of Blanco Tequila which has been in white oak barrels up to at least a year. It comes in a pale color and is smooth in taste.
