Uti Home Remedy - Baking Soda
A UTI remedy of baking soda is not as straightforward as it seems though. There are certain risks associated with ingesting it in the recommended concentration. Baking powder contains high levels of sodium and there are certain groups of people, particularly the elderly and young, for whom excessive sodium can be dangerous. Sodium can cause the kidneys not to function properly and cause circulatory problems. It can also disturb an otherwise healthy balance of the other minerals in our bodies. If you have high blood pressure, kidney problems or liver problems or are pregnant, you should avoid this UTI home remedy. Baking soda will not work well in these cases and can even cause long term harm. POssible side effects include excessive thirst, dizziness, disorientation, muscle tics and even seizures. There are many other ways you can treat a UTI naturally. For example, simply ensuring that you drink at least 2 liters if water each day can help flush out bacteria from the bladder. If you also drink a couple of glasses of unsweetened cranberry juice daily, this can help to prevent bacteria sticking to the walls of the bladder. Taking probiotics and eating a healthy diet, rich in fresh fruits and vegetables is also a good UTI home remedy.
