Unblocking Facebook Is Actually Pretty Easy

Accessing Facebook is often a problem. This is true if you are in school or in the office. Definitely your network administrator has a say on this. However, you can do something about it. This article will show you how.

1. Key in the IP address instead of the URL because blocked sites are usually blocked by their domain names but not the IP address. To determine the site's IP address from your computer, you can click CTRL and R, type CMD on the RUN box and once in the command prompt, type in Ping www.facebook.com then press the ENTER key. Now identify the set of integers separated by periods. This is the sites' IP address. You can either note that down and type in the URL bar of your browser or right-click anywhere in the command prompt, click Mark and select the number you want to copy, go to the browser’s address bar, right-click and pick paste or simply by doing copy paste shortcut key CTRL V.

2. Apply a URL shortening service like tinyurl.com or bit.ly. Simply go to the site of the service, shorten the link address, copy the address and paste this on your browser’s address bar. This should redirect you to Facebook.

3. Use a WAP page such as m.facebook.com which should lead you to the same Facebook site only with a different design.

4. Use a private proxy that can access Facebook without the risk of displaying your IP address to the server you are connecting with or your network administrators. An IP address will still be shown although this will only show the IP address of the proxy server while yours stays concealed to all those involved.

5. Utilize Google Translate. Simply go to the Google translate page, key in the Facebook address and this should finally lead you to Facebook. If you examine the address bar while doing this, the translated address comes first before Facebook so the network will not be able to identify Facebook at all.

6. Use an RSS Feed. Almost all sites can now be accessible through RSS feeds. You can browse your messages in plain text format or you can ask your favorite RSS service provider to redirect your subscriptions to your e-mail address.

7. Use web2mail which enables you to gain access to a site right at your inbox. The procedure is simple. Just send an email to www@web2mail.com and key in the Facebook URL as the Subject.

8. Change the IP Address to a ten digit Decimal number. Now this might be a little more time consuming than any other option but it works as well. The converted IP address is the summation of the product of 16777216 and the first two numbers, the product of 65536 and the next three numbers, the product of 256 and the third set of number and the last set of numbers. Below is an illustration of the conversion procedure with the IP 69.63.189.16.

E.g. ((16777216*69)+(65536*63)+(256*189)+16)=1161805072

Now simply type in http://1161805072 on your URL box.
