Unfortunately, Most Salespeople Will Never Have This Kind Of Sales Success
I know you want to be more successful in selling expensive products. Every salesperson does. But what do most do about it?
Nothing.
They’ll sit back and only chase leads when they come in from the marketing department. They might try a cold call every now or then, but will get shot down and lose confidence. They get the odd sale and this keeps them going. They might even be lucky and get close to target. But this doesn’t happen very often.
Most salespeople struggle and still won’t go out and learn to be successful at selling expensive products. It’s as if somebody said to them “Don’t try to get better at selling by learning from experts, just learn from experience.”
Well let me tell you that they were wrong!
All skills are learnable. If you can learn how to ride a bicycle or drive a car, you can learn how to sell. Selling expensive products is just another skill, and any salesperson can be excellent at selling if they want to.
And while there are plenty of other sales books out there, most of them are very generic, and just tell you “how to sell more.” These books would be great – EXCEPT THEY DON’T TELL YOU HOW TO SELL A PRODUCT WHEN IT IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE COMPETITION!
Some books try to get you to memories fancy ways of “handling objections” and “101 ways to close the sale.” Many of these “techniques” are at best dubious, and at worst, unethical. I’ve read some of these books and almost felt ill at the thought of saying some of those things to my customers.
