Other long term effects are sleeping problems such insomnia and hypersomnia. Physical problems such as headaches and severe pain in the stomach as well as alcohol and drug abuse are other consequences. Substance abuse can lead to fights, memory loss and the most dangerous result is severe depression which can lead to suicidal attempts. Short term effects include fatigue, loss of energy as well as losing interest in activities that you used to enjoy. Sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction in men and menstrual problems in women are other effects. Untreated depression may lead to madness. Dangerous types of this condition are manic and chronic and if you have either, you should seek help when possible. These two types can put you in a state of madness if not treated.
