Use Video Marketing To Boost Your Online Business

If you are doing online business, you cannot ignore video marketing. It is the wave of the future, it is going bigger and bigger every day. Video is really the next "big thing" on the internet, so you need to make sure you're hitched to that wagon.

Creating video may look complicated, but it's way easier than it appears.

Well, the exception would be if you really want to 'go pro', and use expensive equipment -- then the process will be a lot different. But that's not the best option for most people anyway. You will soon learn that you can actually use a very simple program to create and publish effective videos for your marketing effort.

The best way to move forward, without forking out for expensive equipment, is just to use a screen capture software and a microphone. Software that can be used includes camstudio, camtasia, or screenflow for the mac, and you'll just need to record your voice to go with it.

Imagine the possibilities -- demo's of your products, walkthroughs or reviews, and slide show presentations using just your voice.

This can work whether you're selling your own products or promoting other people's stuff as an affiliate.

Leveraging Your Videos:

After you have created your video(s) and uploaded it to one or multiple video sharing sites, this is where the fun begins... watching the view count increase!.

However, this is only one part of what you're trying to achieve. Of course, having an increased number of views are great but the main objective of creating and publishing your videos online is to get targeted traffic to your website. You want people to visit your website after watching the videos because you want to offer and sell something to them so that you can make money.

By including the URL for your website in the video itself and in the description, you will get a certain percentage of viewers who click through to your site. Make sure that make a call-to-action at the end of the video and encourage people to visit your website for more information.

Of course, getting those viewers is the tricky part, so let's look at a few tips for increasing views.

Getting Viewers

If you want viewers, you need traffic. getting traffic to videos is pretty much the same as any other web property. The video should be optimized for a certain keyword phrase, by using the phrase in the video title, description and tags..

This will make it more likely for search engines like google and bing to 'rank' your video in the search results, increasing the click-through rate significantly. Finding video in the search results is still quite 'new' in the internet world, and stick out in comparison to other search listings, so will be easily noticed.

Promoting your video to your mailing list or on your own website can also help. Increased traffic to the video brings the view count higher, which counts for something, especially in the youtube algorithm. Think of it being like a 'snowball effect'. more traffic = more views = higher search results = more traffic.

When people start sharing a video with their friends, and those people do the same (and so on, and so on, and so on) you'll have more traffic than you ever imagined possible.

It's not always easy to make your video go viral in this way -- sometimes you just can't determine success that easily. however, create a compelling, unique video that captures people's attention enough to want to share it with others, and you're half way there...
