Uses For Microwave Cookware

Have you ever used your microwave for more than just reheating food? Next to popping popcorn, that is probably what it is most commonly used for, although there are many other uses. In the past, people have tried to cook all sorts of foods in the microwave, but it just didn’t turn out right.

With microwave cookware, food can cook more thoroughly, evenly, and so that it tastes better. One type of cookware is the potato cooker. You stick the potatoes on skewers that hold it up and cook it in the microwave. Potatoes are pretty easy to cook in the microwave, but with the microwave potato cooking setting and this piece of cookware, it becomes foolproof.

Now there is also the pasta cooker. You measure out the pasta, pour it in along with water, microwave, and it's ready to easily drain and serve. You can steam vegetables, simmer rice, hard boil eggs, etc. There are even recipes to make chocolate cake in a mug, although I tried it once and can't say it was the best cake I've ever eaten.

If you think about it, entire meals can be cooked in the microwave. You can simmer some rice in a rice cooker or boil some pasta. Heat up some sauce or a gravy. Steam some vegetables with butter. Top it all off with a meat that you enjoy and cooks well in the microwave and you are good for dinner tonight! Find some great microwave cookware and give it a try for yourself.
