Using A Flight Card Can Be Beneficial
A flight card is just like a prepaid credit card for flying. You pick the program which will work best for you, meaning that you pick what type of plane you want to fly on, and you pick how many hours you will need for the year or however long the term of the contract is. Some cards are good for multiple years and if you ever run out of hours, you can reload them for what you will require. The benefits that this card brings to the client are having a set amount of money that you spend. You know exactly what your flying budget is for the year. This means that you schedule what you need and when you need it knowing what your end costs will be. There are no extra hidden fees and there are no upkeep fees for the plane as there would be if you owned the plane. Also, by being in a program of sorts, the cost is reduced a little bit over what it would cost if you booked each individual flight on its own. Almost like a group rate. Another benefit is that the costs are set, so you don't have to worry about increases in fares and in fuel charges. You know how many hours in the air that you have and the cost doesn't alter for the length of the contract. The negatives are that you have a set amount of time in the air and you might not be able to estimate just how much time you will require. Also, you pay the money up front and so that is an expense that comes out of the company or checking account all at once as opposed to when the need arises. But even with the initial expense, many clients think that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks of this system and with all of the unknowns and fluctuations in fuel prices these days, this program might just make sense for you.
