With all of the ways that you can market your business where should a person go to get started. There are literally so many things you can do to get higher rankings in the search engines, higher amounts of traffic that people can become overwhelmed at where to begin.

Well here ya go, forum marketing is key. Why would you go to someone elses forum to promote your own site. Well lets start with targeted traffic. You can do a search for forums related to your niche, sign up for about 5- 10 of them and start becoming an active member. Now this doesn't mean start spamming your site away. Become a member, make some friends, take a little time to get to know whats going on, you may learn some things as well and the beauty of all of this is that your getting and giving relevant info and your audience is targeted. This means that when you decide to slowly introduce your site, the members are more likely to like or buy what your selling.

What other reasons are there for forum marketing above and beyond other marketing methods. Well there is the targeted issue again, not only are you targeting members based on their likes and dislikes, you are targeting your links. Search engines like to rank sites based on several criteria, one of the most important is incoming links, the more relevant a site that links to your site the better. So what this means is that if you are a member of several forums related to your sites niche, when you post you can usually put a link in the post or at least in your signature file. What this means is that you get a relevant link from a relevant site and you can control the links keywords.

These reasons alone make forum marketing one of the greatest resources for gaining traffic. But there are many more. So get out there and start chatting.
