Using Technology To Delay Flight Delays

Who wants to wait in an airport? Does like having to take their shoes off and get searched before flying? Losing luggage is no fun either. Most folks don't want to sit next to a chatty guy that does nothing but talk about his family. It isn't fun to get caught in one of these spots and delays don't help.

Delays are almost always long and inconvenient, no matter when or where they occur. Being forced to wait on a tarmac, for what seems to be forever, with no explanation, by anyone's definition is not ok. Knowing there is some recourse we can take in these situations when they occur, may not be enough to ward off the fact that, for the most part, we are at mercy of the powers that are in control.

If you are traveling with kids, you already know to be ready with things to keep them occupied, should a delay become part of the trip. Laptops are great for consuming time when it appears to stand still. Movies, music, games, emails, IM's, fashion tips or watching last night episode of their favorite missed sitcom are just a few of the things we have available within a laptop and is just a keyboard stroke away. Keeping boredom off any trip will make any delays at least tolerable.

Good laptops have a handy DVD player and if you are lucky a Blu-ray player. If you don't know, you have the ability to download movies and television shows conveniently to your laptop. There is no need to carry around music or movie discs. You can watch a movie or a show that you have previously stored. This is incredibly useful, especially if you have small children that must be entertained.

Laptops are just one of the many boredom busters you have at your disposal. Wireless connectivity is freedom. Extremely portable MP3 players, cell phones, ipods, ipads are just a few good ways to get to the Internet and send boredom to another galaxy, far far away. Dedicated game and entertainment devices are great and very useful when there is more than one child to entertain, plus the fact that they are so small and easy to store when not being used, makes these the ideal gadgets for any air trip, delays or not. Baby sitters are getting smaller and smaller and conveniently more affordable every day.
