Vacation Packages Should At Least Include Basic Amenities

Vacation packages in various locations around the world can come in all different shapes and sizes and may offer a number of different things, but there are several things that just about all of them should include.

Depending on the type of getaway you are hoping to take - whether it is a solo trip, a couples retreat or a family excursion - there are various things that you will undoubtedly be looking for that others may not. That being said, whether or not some of these basic things are included can still be a good barometer of what you are getting for your money.

First and foremost, all vacation packages should include the specific accommodations you signed up for and that were specified to you at the time of booking. You are paying a lump sum for a package deal and the most significant item in the package is the room you will be staying in. Because of this, you should not expect a hotel or resort to sign you up for a package with a room of a specific size only to offer you a smaller room or a different type at the last minute.

Meals, snacks or general food of some sort should also be a part of a good package deal. If you are going to pay above and beyond the price of accommodations, your fees should certainly include you and your family being fed to a certain degree. Whether that is three square meals a day or various brunches or snacks depends on the particular resort or package you paid for.

At the same time, alcoholic beverages should also be thrown in to a certain degree. It does not have to be full open bar with premium liquor all the time, but good vacation packages will include beer and wine service during meals, a happy hour with your choice of beverages or various parties that offer your choice of booze. 

It is also good to have activities, or at least access to activities, included in quality vacation packages. Because you are away from home and may not know where to go to find the various things you like to do, it is on the resort to ensure that you are enjoying your time and making the most of it. Facilitating this by providing access to various sports and activities, and by including their cost in these packages, is a great way to do this.

Depending on the specific vacation packages you are looking into, there are likely to be many other things you can look for to be included. These are just basic starters to help you ensure that you are getting the most out of your money.
