Vacuum Cleaner Monster For Good Pets & Children

My husband and I have developed a bit of an old school attitude since buying our house and having a baby. We stick with the old if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it motto. Of course I never realized at the time that not fixing it meant the same as not updating. Nor did I realize that we weren’t saving anything by keeping our old appliances. They are less energy efficient, twice as heavy and of course twice as loud which was the biggest disturbance to our household.

I don’t know who was worse my dog or my toddler when it comes time to bring out the old vacuum cleaner! I swear the screaming and barking was enough to make me pull my hair out, unfortunately it was and still is a task that must be done at least once and sometimes up to three times a day. What with all the spilled cheerios and the dog hair everywhere it was a challenge just to keep up. I have a split level house and the stairs alone can be tough, especially since my old vacuum weighed more than my toddler. I came up with a simple solution for the dog and his incessant barking. When it was time for the vacuum he goes out to play in the yard. With a little luck my neighbor’s dog was out too and he was too distracted to worry about the noise coming from inside.

Now the baby! What to do? The pouting lips, the fat tears running down his sweet little face and the fear etched in his baby blue eyes, I couldn’t bear it another minute. Should I give up and stop vacuuming altogether? Tile the entire house? Wait an idea! Dump the old loud as can be monster vacuum and get a smaller, lighter and quieter version for me and a smaller version for my baby boy so now when mommy vacuums he can too! Ahh the quiet, the cleanliness! Pure joy for mama, baby and doggy. As for daddy, he’s now looking at new lawn mowers, after all what’s good for the goose and so forth.
