Vacuum Cleaner Tune Up
The first thing you need to look at is the bag. If your bag or dust cup is too full it drastically cuts down on the vacuum power. Clean your dust cup out each time you use your vacuum and change your vacuum bag whenever it becomes half full. This is one of the biggest things you can do to make our vacuum run well. Next check your hoses and make sure they are clean of all obstructions. It is very easy for hoses to become clogged over time. If possible remove them from the vacuum and make sure they are clear by inserting an appropriate sized stick into them. After you have cleaned the hoses it is time to move on to the agitator bar at the bottom of the vacuum. If possible remove it and clean it thoroughly. Check the belt and make sure it has the right tension and that it is not damaged. If it is at all damaged replace it, belts are very cheap to replace. That is all there is to having a well maintained vacuum. Try to perform this tune up every month or so to keep it running optimally and to make the most of your time vacuuming.
