Vagator Beach- It Rocks!

Every beach of Goa holds its own unique charm, and so does Vagator beach. It is a big hit with tourists who come here to enjoy the company of sun, sand and sea. Occupying a prized place amongst the other beaches, This enchanting beach is truly worth a visit. One of the major attractions standing tall at the beach is the mesmerizing Chapora Fort perched on a hill. It is around 500 year old structure. It is the same fort which was featured in the hit Bollywood movie Dil Chahta Hai. The fort offers breathtaking views of the sea and its surroundings. It is a romantic place where you will surely break into a romantic song.

The beach with the golden sand, black lave rocks, swaying palm trees and lashing waves make it an overwhelming holiday destination.  The beach is divided into two main beaches by a seaside headland- North Vagator beach and the Ozrant beach (Mini Vagator beach). Located in between these two beaches is a small beach named Middle Vagator Beach. 


The beach has an interesting feature which makes it all the more popular. It is believed that its water has curative properties and every year in the month of May Goans come here to take bath in its water. It is said that it cures joint pains and arthritis. And this has been practiced in Goa for hundreds of years. There are some luxury spas in Italy where such sea therapies are offered and there they are called Thallaso therapy. 

There are two freshwater springs at Vagator beach. Don't miss the beautiful Shiva carving at the beach.
