Some people develop a reaction to certain ingredients or particles that are present in some cosmetics. In this kind of acne, the skin and the pores develop an adverse reaction to the cosmetics used. If you think that your acne is caused by the cosmetics you use, you'll need to get them analyzed and perhaps switch brands. This is one reason doctors give patients an allergy patch test prior to using products that contain chemical ingredients.

And then there is acne congoblata, the most severe kind of acne that only occurs in men. Acne congoblata is quite rare too, and it is believed to be hereditary. Science is yet to determine what exactly is he cause of acne. Acne congoblata is prevalent on the face and on the back, and it leaves permanent, deep scars. There is no cure for acne congoblata. A person with this kind of acne would just have to hope for the best that the acne scars won't be too deep.

Heavy soap and detergent usage can cause another kind of acne, aptly named acne detergens. Similar to acne cosmetic, people with acne detergens typically only need to stop using a particular soap or detergent in order to treat the acne.

Then there's acne pomade, a kind of acne that is the result of hair oil or creams that inadvertently enters the pores on the face, usually through the forehead.

There are still quite a number of varieties of acne. This only shows that acne is a serious problem that millions of people around the world are hoping could be easily cured and even prevented.
