I'm going to help you improve your speaking skills. Learning to properly speak to a crowd is tough for most people, but you can overcome the fear and keep speaking you will improve. Knowing the little things about how to present information and yourself is what makes people remember you as a speaker.
Gauge Your Audience: You need to have a good idea about what your audience wants to hear and how much they know about the topic. Nothing is worse for a speaker if you're talking to the audience and explaining little things like definitions that they already understand. This creates the dynamic that you don't think highly of them and naturally, they're not going to live your presentation.
Use Humor: This is a great way to wake up the audience and keep them paying attention. Everyone loves to laugh and when you're the one that makes them laugh, they audience will start to associate that with you. You become a good speaker to them because you make them feel good. If you're not a humorous person, than you need to practice. A lot of this has to do with body language and tension in the room, so it maybe difficult, but required. If you just can't be funny, don't be. There's nothing more awkward than a person trying to be funny and no one laughing
Keep It Simple: I know when you're talking about a topic you like, you want to tell everything. Unfortunately, you can't. You should focus on a few points and that is it. Make these points as clear as possible, but don't branch out from them. Make the points and you'll keep the audience's attention.
