Vertical Blinds And Dogs

Sadly small dogs find the bottom weights and chains on vertical blinds the best thing to chew on in the whole wide world. This is especially true of puppies.

For some unknown reason the find them just to good to be left alone.

This is distressing for the owners and can prove to be tiresome to keep replacing them. So why not try and advert the problem before it happens?

A simple solution is to open all blinds during the day when puppy is around. Remove the temptation and your new puppy will get bored.

If your puppy does eat the blinds chain it is always a good idea to have them checked over by a vet, Very rarely will the dog be able to completely eat the chain, more just gnaw at it making them unsightly. Remember too that Blinds with long cords can choke a puppy if the puppy catches his head in them or chews them. Hang the cord out of reach.

An easy way to do this either opt for cordless vertical blinds with a wand or buy a cord tidy which allows you to wrap the cord out of reach.

Try and not to scold your puppy for this, they are only playing and do not understand the damage they are causing.

You can replace the chains and weights quite easily, but a dog is for life.

Perhaps your puppy just needs a little bit of pampering, there is a great website dedicated to all things doggy. Check out prettypawsaccessories.co.uk they offer everything a puppy could want and more.
