Villa Cojimar Was Reopened In Jardines Del Rey

After a fully renovated construction process that took several months and with increased tourist offers for foreign visitors taking Cuba holidays, Villa Cojimar was reopened last December in Cayo Guillermo, one of the keys comprising Jardines del Rey archipelago, located on the northern coast of Cuba.

The day chosen for the reopening of Villa Cojimar coincided with the 16th anniversary of this tourist resort and the beginning of the winter season. In the first week alone, the occupancy went beyond 70 per cent, with a considerable number of holidaymakers coming for their second time.

This beautifully restored 3-star tourist facility is managed by the Cuban Hotel Group Gran Caribe. It combines altogether the natural wonders of its surroundings, the excellence of service and respectful and friendly communication with guests, which make many of them feel like home and decide to come back.

With the full renovation operation, the number of rooms increased to 280, plus 20 cottages, the swimming pool was totally modernised, as well as the lobby and the snack-bar area.

Villa Cojimar is a bungalow-type resort built in 1994. It is the only one that offers accommodation in cozy cottages near the seashore in the natural destination of Jardines del Rey.

Jardines del Rey is a fishing and scuba diving paradise destination located on the northern keys of Ciego de Avila central province. It has 12 all inclusive Cuba hotels and represents a key interest for travellers spending Cuba holidays; since they can fully enjoy the wonders of this natural exotic area, such as a vast coral reef, virgin and pristine beaches, rich wildlife, and an unprecedented causeway linking the keys to mainland.

Onel Gonzalez, General Manager of Villa Cojimar, stresses the strategic location of the resort, near Marlin Marina, and about 4 miles from Pilar Beach, one of top beaches in the Caribbean region because of the height of its dunes and crystal glass waters.

More than 30 sea and land excursions are available for holidaymakers mainly from Canada, Argentina and the United Kingdom during their sun an sand or eco holidays in Cuba.

Among the most typical attractions is the one called "Robinson Crusoe", especially designed for couples on their honeymoon, in which they are taken on catamarans to small islands, including Cayo Caiman and Mata de Coco, in order to enjoy the beach, practice scuba diving and have Cuban food in the open air.
