Visit Enoree River Vineyard In Newberry, South Carolina

While visiting the historic town of Newberry, South Carolina, be sure to include a stop at Enoree River Vineyard. It is located just four miles east of Newberry at 1650 Dusty Road, only ˝ mile off Interstate 26. The vineyard is open Tuesday- Saturday from 10:00AM to 6:00PM.

Enoree River Vineyard is one of the few wineries/ vineyards in South Carolina. Enoree is a Cherokee word meaning “riverbanks overflowing with muscadines”. The vineyard was begun in 2004. Today there are 800 muscadine vines planted in what had previously been a cow pasture. Visitors may tour the grounds, take a stroll on the walking trail, bring a picnic, and taste several types of wines. Enoree River Vineyard’s tasting room offers wines ranging from country fruit wines to Cabernet and Riesling in dry, medium, and sweet. Tastings are $3.50.

Wines available for purchase include Noble (red), Carlos (white), Cabernet, Riesling, merlot, and raspberry and blackberry fruit wines. The wines sell for $12.00 a bottle. Enoree River Vineyard recommends their Cabernet with steaks, and their Riesling pairs well with fish. Enoree River Vineyard is the perfect venue for weddings, private parties, and other special events. There is also a gift shop on the property that specializes in South Carolina products. Some of the items available for purchase include Carolina rice, lotions, and muscadine candles and soaps. The owners invite visitors to stop by the vineyard, take a tour of the property, and sample some of their excellent wines.
Enoree River Vineyard is located just four miles outside Newberry, one of South Carolina’s most historic cities. Newberry is off Interstate 26, approximately 35 miles northwest of Columbia. This historic city has a charming downtown containing many buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors enjoy Newberry’s many antique and specialty shops, and its fine restaurants. The city is also home to picturesque Newberry College, a liberal arts college founded in 1856.
