If you want to learn how to sing, you're not alone, and it can be done. Though not every singing voice is naturally endowed, every singing voice can be improved. The most important part of learning how to sing well is dedication to practicing the appropriate throat and breathing exercises to ensure the voice is trained properly.


To help a person sing with less stress, practicing the vocal exercises to open the throat is necessary. This exercise, if done properly, will give you a powerful singing voice. There are so many things you can do to improve your singing voice, one is through singing lessons.The ear needs to be trained to recognize the right notes and key. Use a piano to help with this. If you are what is known as "tone deaf" you may have some trouble recognizing whether or not you are staying on key. It is a good idea to use a recorder to record your singing and play it back so you can hear where you are going wrong. If you have a trained ear, you'll be able to quickly identify mistakes and take steps to correct them.

The vocal cords are muscles, and as such, require proper warm up and cool down to get the best sound result. Don't expect to be an excellent singer overnight, as it will take daily practice for a while to get the best results. You can strain your voice and hurt your throat if you're not using proper techniques, so you'll want to be careful and monitor the way you are singing to ensure you're teaching yourself proper technique.

Breathing from the stomach is the key. Push your tummy down and out, without moving your shoulders, when inhaling. And then pull your tummy inward and upward again without moving your shoulders, when exhaling. This will be hard to practice at first, but you'll get used to it as you practice more often. Here's how to see if you're doing it the right way. Place your hand on your tummy as you inhale and exhale. Now, this is important. Do not force it when you exhale. This breathing technique is also done in meditating and allows your body to be more relax and stress free.

In any other aspects of life, confidence is important. You must know very well the song you are singing to be more confident. And with confidence, you will produce a sound based on your natural singing voice. Again, to learn how to sing, vocal and breathing techniques are important.
