Want To Learn The Violin On Your Own? Consider These 3 Points

Some people aren't considering all of the important points when they choose a method of learning the violin. Cost is often the main factor when deciding on a path to violin mastery. We'll be talking about three additional considerations when making this choice.

Because of the digital age and all the products released about teaching yourself violin, that is quickly becoming one of the favored options. This option is the crowd favorite for your wallet as you don't have to pay indefinately for lessons and you can go over the materal any time you like.

With this option you can choose how fast you want to learn. It can be a good or a bad thing though. Sadly, many will lose motivation if not pushed by outside forces.

That's one of the reasons personal lessons can be highly effective. You get around people who love the instrument and make time to play it because of that love. That sort of energy and mindset rubs off on you.

The next point is how observant you are. If you have a keen eye (and ear) for detail, you can rapidly make quality progress. If you aren't so sure on this point or lack confidence, you may be better having someone there to critique your performance. Otherwise you may be very adept at playing poorly.

Finally there is the question of patience. If you lack patience you will give up one way or another. Realize that it takes time to learn anything new. Some days you may not play as well, but don't be discouraged. It is to be expected. Overall improvement over time is what you need to be aware of. Having a teacher can help pace your expectations so that you keep your goal in mind.

These points are merely guidelines, not hard rules. Also, personal preference is always important in all things so don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something you want to do. And you can deal with any weakness.

Having others there and invested in your progress does wonders to keep you moving in the right direction. These people don't have to be teachers, family and peers do just as well. Although this leverage point is often skipped over, it can make a massive difference. Don't hold anything back when talking to them. If you brag about how good you're going to be, you'll be too embarrassed not to make progress.

Be creative enough to see all the options. You could get a teach yourself violin course in some manner, and with part of the saved money, you could pay someone to be your motivation through whatever means necessary.

Be creative both in your playing and in your practice; stagnation kills passion. Be on the look out for any resistance or negativity, and find ways to overcome it. Keep the excuses to a minimum, because if you aren't making progress, you are wasting your time and focus. If you want something you can have it, but don't lie to yourself to make you think you can't.
