“warning: Spyware Threat Has Been Detected On Your Pc” – Does This Message Look Familiar?

If you use your computer to surf the internet there is an almost certain chance it will become infected with spyware at some point. In fact a recent CNN study determined that 90% of computers had some kind of spyware installed on them. When you get the message – Warning: spyware threat has been detected on your pc, it probably means your computer is infected. But keep in mind that the spyware may be causing the message to pop up in the first place!

It is estimated that 9/10 warning spyware detected or blue screen warning spyware detection messages are FALSE. They are actually placed by rogue anti spyware programs. A rogue anti spyware program is a form of spyware that that advertises itself as a spyware remover. They are meant to scare you into downloading their software, which in turn will only corrupt your hard drive further, scam you out of money, and put your private information at risk.

How do you know if your message is legit or not? Well if the message states “spyware has been detected on your pc” and gives you generic advice like “install an antivirus or spyware remover” then it probably is real. If the message warns you and then specifically provides a link to download a spyware remover then it is a fake. You still need to get rid of the infection but whatever you do, please do NOT click on the link.

The #1 way internet users get infected these days are through counterfeit anti spyware programs. Do not fall for their traps. If you are getting a message “Warning: spyware threat has been detected on your computer” then you need to scan your computer right away. These spyware programs when attached to your PC will spread and infest your entire hard drive while corrupting your registry. Not only will it annoy you with pop ups and slow down your computer – it will also spy on your surfing habits and steal confidential information!
