Poems are the portion of literature, which the writer writes in the form of a verse as well as using other styles. They use various types of writing techniques like using metaphors as well as similes etc so as, to express the emotions that they are undergoing and convey them to the reader in the form of the poem. Such techniques use many kinds of examples, which help a poet to understand the mind-set. The English as well as the other languages used in the poems includes various type of schemes for rhyming. One can experience such types of techniques mostly in the poems, which are written for children. The most common example being the one used in the schools for making them learn and remember the same. Such poems are known as Nursery rhymes that all of us have learned in our childhood. As per the type of the poem, the structure keeps on varying. It can be, written in a line, in form of a couplet or that of the stanza. It is the work of the poets to make the use of all the different languages and create the imagination with the help of the structure so as, to show the emotions and feelings surrounding them. The composition of the poem enhances on using the lines that used in the structured way.

The usually used poems are sonnet and ballad as well as rhymes and limericks. In ballad, the poems are written in very old style wherein the poem genuinely tells a story. It has different stanzas of eight to ten lines and then the poem ends with a stanza having five or six lines. The specialty of such poetry is that all the stanzas will be having the same line at the end of it. On the other hand, the less common ones can ne Idyll and Senryu. All such forms assist the writer to give a flow to his poem and such styles and structures should not bound the ideas that the poet have while he is writing. One can convey his feeling by using basic styles as well.
