Ways To Win Your Parrot’s Confidence.

As a new parrot owner you will be impatient to win your pet’s love and trust at the earliest. Yet, as in any true friendship, it needs some time, patience and compatibility for a bond to grow between both of you. You can follow some ideas to get close with your pet and earn its faith:

1. Regular maintenance: A daily regime of maintenance like cleaning its cage or providing food and water to your parrot makes it dependent on you and it starts recognizing your help and care.

2. Play time: Devoting some time to play with it and demonstrate your affection for it will surely earn its trust in you. In fact, your parrot will look forward to your loving touch or massage and even your gentle talk.

3. Parrot toys: Although you may provide your pet with basic food, water or shelter, your parrot will immensely enjoy playing with some safe toys if you give it. Creating such fun time and positive ness for it will earn you a place in its heart and it will look forward for such moments.

4. Respect your parrot’s feelings: Parrots are sensitive birds and have the ability to understand all your actions. Never show disrespect to your parrot, else it can misinterpret your behavior and start feeling threatened by you.

5. Treat your parrot well: Never punish your pet for any misbehavior. Instead try to reward it whenever possible for a good behavior. This way you will get a chance to train your pet in a positive manner.

8. Provide options: Never force your pet parrot to abide by your own set of rules. Instead provide some choices to it – be it in its diet of veggies or in any of its play toys. This also helps to break the monotony in its life and enjoy some variety.

9: Talk to your parrot and gain its confidence: Whenever an opportunity arises, talk to your parrot lovingly. A soothing tone will not only comfort it but you get a chance to train it too. Also its love for you will grow.

10: Maintain a stress-free environment: Always try to shield your pet and its cage from stress-full environment like extreme temperatures, humid weather or predators like cats and dogs. A safe and sound pet will be a happy pet and will also keep you worry free.

All these simple tips do not require any enormous efforts from you but will go a long way to help you bond with your loving pet. It will sow the seeds for a strong friendship between you and your charming parrot!
