Web Copywriting - How To Easily Come Up With Benefits

An important thing is to come up with benefits when you're writing sales copy for your product or service. Ideally, you should have a long list of benefits so you have a lot of material to work with. Later, you can always trim down your copy by removing benefits that are irrelevant.

But how do you come up with benefits?

An easy way to start is to first list all the features of your product. As an example, let's say we're trying to sell a toothbrush. Here are a few of its features:

* Has a handle
* Has bristles
* Blue color

From this list of features, we can come up with a list of benefits. Each feature can be translated into a benefit:

* Provides a grip so you can hold your toothbrush to brush your teeth with ease.
* Cleans your teeth so you won't get cavities or gum disease.
* Easy to tell which toothbrush is yours and which toothbrush is your spouse's.

Sometimes, you may be able to list more than one benefit for a feature. If you can, try to list more than one benefit for a feature. It'll give you more material to work with.

Another way to come up with benefits is to use the product yourself. Try to get really familiar with it. Get intimate with the product. When you really know the product, it'll be easier to come up with benefits for it.

Also, try to think of the problems that your prospect is having. And then think of the solutions that your product offers to solve those problems. Those solutions then become benefits you can use.
