Secondly after we are done with the homepage it is time to look at the sites navigation. Does your site currently provide your visitors with options to find what they are looking for? Does it have a great internal linking structure? If the answer to these questions is no, then its seriously a good idea to invest some money in a redesign of your sites structure and really get your navigation up to speed with many of the other successful sites out there today.

OK we have taken care of the homepage and are on top of the navigation. The last thing you should certainly consider is remove any advertising you have from your site. If you are selling a product or a service, what is the point of giving your sites traffic a reason to leave? And whats worse they will potentially be going to a competitor. Sounds simple doesn’t it but you would be surprised at the sheer number of companies that advertise on their site through either banner ads or Google Adsense.

Once you are on top of these important areas of your site you will have a great grounding to begin building a successful site on. Having a great web design is an on going thing and as technologies improve you will have to be flexible to change also.
