Wedding Photography Tips To Ensure Perfect Pictures

"Help, I'm planning my wedding and want amazing pictures." This is a phrase I hear over and over again. So, to help you plan your wedding, I';ve compiled a list of helpful wedding photography tips. Whether you wish to have a family friend handle the photography, or hire a professional photographer, continue reading to ensure your wedding pictures are perfect.

1 - Create a Budget

You should not only know ahead of time how much money you plan to spend on your wedding, but also specifically how much you can afford for a photographer.

Start contacting local professional photographers to get free price quotes. Arrange meetings to see whether you get on with him or her, and also to view samples of their wedding albums. Nowadays, a professional photographer can offer you a tremendous choice of wedding albums, not just the traditional matted wedding album - flush albums, magazine style albums, a wedding coffee table book ... Obviously, prices vary according to quality.

Perhaps you don';t have enough to hire a professional photographer? Well, find a family friend to photograph your wedding for free - or at least at a cheaper price.

2 - Create a List of "Must Have" Shots

Whether you hire a professional photographer or use a family friend, create a list of shots you wish to have taken. Obviously, you';ll want traditional pictures, such as you and your spouse cutting the cake. But don';t forget shots taken before the ceremony of wedding preparations, of you getting ready, of excited guests greeting each other.

Create a list of your ideas and discuss them with your photographer. This is also where you';ll need to consider backgrounds. People will always be on the move at your wedding, and having the kitchen of the banquet room in the background could ruin an otherwise beautiful picture. So, don';t just make a list of shots you want taken, but decide ahead of time where you';d like them to be.

3 - Appoint a Family Member as the Photo Coordinator

Once your special day has arrived, everything will be crazy and hectic and you won';t have a free moment to spare. No matter how hard you try, you won';t be able to monitor your photographer, so assign this task to a family member or friend. After all, you want to ensure that your photographer - whether they';re professional or amateur - has all the help required to take amazing pictures.

4 - Keep the Mistakes

With digital cameras, it';s become second nature to delete shots that did not turn out quite as intended. Guess what? With the magic of photo editing software, these could turn out to be some of your best wedding photographs. So, if a family friend is to become your amateur wedding photographer for the day, advise him or her not to delete mistakes, for they could end up as some of your most unique pictures.

5 - Change Your Perspective

This is important advice for amateur photographers, for they';re more likely to aim for perfect, eye-level shots, whereas a professional photographer knows that a mix of shots is best. Do a combination of formal poses, candid shots, shots taken from up high and shots taken from low down to create an amazing assortment of wedding photographs.

And the most important tip of all? Have fun and enjoy yourself. But do plan your wedding photographs ahead of time, so that you have beautiful memories of your special day that will last forever.
