Wedding Venues.
Space The venue should be spacious and should be able to house your guests without stuffing them into a room. Even if you choose to occupy a smaller area, it is important that it is planned in such a way that it gives an impression of a larger space. Architecture & Façade The first thing your guests will see will be the façade of the venue. Make sure that even though it might not be opulent, it certainly doesn’t look derelict. It is a little difficult and no, you are not being choosy, but make sure the style of the place and building suits your needs. Grounds and Gardens If you are planning an outdoor wedding, make sure the grounds and gardens are well tended and looked after. If they have some focal points, like fountains and ponds, then it’s a great advantage. Even a neatly manicured lawn works wonders and makes a venue look beautiful. Outside Catering Ask if they allow outside catering in case you have someone in mind. Many wedding venues insist on in-house catering, but some allow you to bring in your own caterers. Enquire before finalising. Wedding Planner Again, many wedding venues have their own wedding planners and would ask you to work with them. It’s a great idea, as it saves you the headache of finding one yourself. But if you have someone in mind, please enquire beforehand. Accommodation Weddings always bring in outstation guests and you will have to plan for their accommodation. Today, wedding venues offer accommodation facilities as well when you book their place. It’s an added bonus and this offer should definitely make you consider your choice. Air conditioning and Heating It might sound silly, but this is a very important aspect. We wouldn’t want our guests to feel hot or cold now would we? So, to save yourself some troubles, ask prior to making your reservations. Band and Music As we all know, the bride and the groom have to dance the traditional first dance. So for this they need a beautiful band playing them “their” song. Enquire if the venue has an in-house band or if you have to arrange for the music yourself. Time Limits Many areas, being residential or having permit problems, need to shut down the music early. So it is advisable that you enquire beforehand and ask if you can apply for a special permit or not. Most venues don’t have a problem, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Distance and Accessibility It is very important that you choose a place close by so as to not to cause any inconvenience to your guests, especially if you aren’t putting up your guests at the venue. Also, taking safety into consideration, make sure your venue is not in a deserted area and is easily accessible by public transport and well connected to roads. A wedding venue at Belair Park Country Club, www.belairparkcountryclub.com.au, is a really good idea.
