Westboro Baptists Aren't Marks Of Anonymous

Anonymous, the "hacktivist" group that has been making waves recently, is rumored to have selected a new target. An open letter was found on a website known to be affiliated with Anonymous. The content of the letter led several to believe that the Westboro Baptist Church was the next goal of Anonymous. Other Anonymous members have asserted that the group has larger priorities than the small church from Kansas known for hate speech. Bigger strategies for Anonymous
An open letter was discovered on a website somewhat affiliated with the internet "hacktivist" group Anonymous, and it was directed at the controversial Westboro Baptist Church. CBS reports the letter made it seem like a Directed Denial of Service, or DDoS, attack would be directed at the group by Anonymous. It said that Anonymous wanted Westboro Baptists church to stop as the "inhumane treatment of fellow Man has reached its apex" in accordance with the letter. Right now, there are "more pressing matters to deal with" for Anonymous. This is why representatives said the Phelps family and the Westboro Baptists do not have to worry about a DDoS assault.
Answer from Westboro
A response came from the Westboro Baptist Church though. It said that the "puddle of pimple-faced nerds" was all Anonymous was. In case a trap was going to happen, Anonymous asked members not to attack WBC. Anonymous has no formal structure, and rogue members are fully capable of organizing and carrying out attacks by themselves, but the group is known for taking on much larger adversaries. Anonymous and the Church of Scientology had a public feud before which led Anonymous to take on religious organizations.
The tiny WBC
The little group in KS that works with hate speech at colleges and at funerals is not the audience that Anonymous has been working against recently. Egyptian government sites were targeted by the "hacktivists" in the group after the Internet service was cut off in Egypt. Also, when WikiLeaks was cut off by Visa, MasterCard and Paypal, the corporations all got attacked.
