Probably the most popular ways to fly on a private jet for business and corporate fliers is with a new program that numerous companies offer. It's a flight card, that is just what it sounds like. You pay for a certain amount of hours each year on a certain class of jet and you get a card, similar to a credit card which has an account number and any other pertinent information that you then present to the charter company ahead of each flight.

All of your information is stored on the card and in their company's computer system. Things like how many hours of flight time you have left, what sort of plane that you prefer and all of the other accounting information that is needed. The nice thing about this program, other than being able to fly comfortably and securely on a private plane, is the convenience of knowing what your flight expenses will be for a certain amount of time.

OF course, if you happen to use up all of your time, you can always "reload" your card and you will be ready to go at a moment's notice. Working with one company is the only drawback to the system. You may be limited on how large the specific fleet is and that may limit the response time in an emergency. But there are some distinct advantages to the program other than having a fixed spending limit and being able to plan the travel budget.

First, you have a relationship with one agency and they know what you and your company needs and expects. Second, there are no additional fees. You do not have to maintain an airplane or a flight crew. All of these expenses are already built into the cost of your program and there are no monthly fees involved like there would be if you were using a fractional aircraft ownership program instead. The fees can really pile up and become overwhelming, especially if you are an infrequent flier and have no need to actually own a plane.

Of course, if you and your company are flying much more often, say more than one hundred hours a year, and then this might not be a program that you would be interested in. Looking into the cost and responsibility of ownership might be a better idea for that particular situation. It really is all about how many hours you need to fly and that is what should determine your program of choice.
