What Are The Benefits Of Homeschooling?
Why let your children learn at home than send them to school? Firstly, you don't have to wake them up early every morning and send them off to school, and wait anxiously 'till they return. Homeschooling means that you have more control over influences that affect your child. The development of your child's mind is removed from outside influences. You can determine what your child will to do and learn. Setting the curriculum to suit the needs and the interests of your children is one of the obvious benefits of homeschooling Individual teaching is another important benefit of homeschooling. For instance, if your child needs more time to learn a weak subject you can reduce the teaching time for the strongest subject. You can determine the hours of learning per subject. Your child will have the advantage of more time weak subjects with no additional pressure. The time required to learn each subject will depend on the child's interest and of course their ability. Schooling will become an extended family activity. The parents will get involved in all phases of the learning. Field trips then become family activities and the child will receive more quality time with their parents. The entire family can share games and projects. Family closeness will become paramount and negative peer pressure is reduced or eliminated completely in the choices and decisions they make. Competition is eliminated in homeschooling. The child never needs to prove his ability with other children. Because parents know their child, they can plan the learning program to suite their child's interest and ability. Parents can alternate difficult lessons with fun activities. A difficult hour with, say, mathematics may be followed by a trip to the museum or such like. Learning will then become fun. The curriculum can be altered to suit the child's learning style. Your child may learn by reading, or by writing or maybe by seeing results of action of objects. Parents can incorporate their religious beliefs and ideologies into the child's curriculum because homeschooling allows parents to control the moral and religious learning of their child. Because what is being practiced at home is being taught, there is no confusion in the child's mind. Lastly, many parents are now disillusioned by the public school system. They think that their children are pushed too hard or too little by the system. Discipline and ethics within the school system also worry them. Many do not agree with grouping children only, and not on the ability and interest of the child. Some parents still have unhappy memories of their own time at public school, so they feel that homeschooling would be best for their own children. If you have the time, the ability and the interest, homeschooling is the best way to teach your children because nobody can understand your child better than yourself.
