What products do you really believe in? It is definitely not hard to talk about something that you believe in. My wife and I have just spent three months touring around Australia in our caravan. It was a wonderful experience and more than adequately fulfilled dreams that I have had since my teenage years. Now caravanning around Australia is something that I truly believe you too will enjoy.
Even now, after my self esteem levels have gone from a low of 1 or 2 to pretty close to 10 most of the time, I am still fairly quiet in a social situation – unless someone asks me about our trip, or about our family. Then you can’t stop me. So if I want to persuade someone to caravan around Australia for three months, it would be easy! Like selling chainsaws, when I believe in something, it is not hard to talk about it and “sell” it to someone else. What else is important when you are about to set out as an online salesperson?
Firstly, if you believe in something, you will gather all the information that you can about that 'product' until you know it inside out. After three months touring Australia and reading all the information I could about each place we visited, and pouring over the map of Australia until I knew every detail of roads we were to travel, I was excited about this great country of ours. You would only have to ask me and I would give you more information than you would ever need!
Obviously if you are going to be an internet marketer, you need to check out your product until you are so soaked in it that you could answer any question that may come your way from interested enquirers or even skeptics. If, during this process you come across aspects of the product that you can’t believe in, or maybe, with integrity, you could not support the product or the sales techniques, then it is likely that this particular product is not for you. Move on.
Secondly, you need to be honest. In the world of internet marketing there are huge promises made that simply aren’t true. I find myself pretty skeptical when a marketer tells me that I can make thousand of dollars in the next seven days. I am much more likely to believe the marketer that says that 95% of internet marketers fail and then goes on to tell me how I can succeed. In the long run your personal integrity will be one of your greatest assets.
My third point is that you must know what you are working with. A good workman doesn’t blame his tools – he becomes familiar with them and gets to know how to use them. For an internet marketer there is a plethora of tools. Here is a list which I have taken from a website called Mikes Marketing Tools (No, he’s not paying me a commission for this!):

And that is probably not all the tools that are available to you. However, it is worth taking the time to get to know them and which are the most useful for you. After all, a good carpenter does the same thing!
Finally, the product you are really selling is yourself. People who are looking for products want something of value. They also want to be able to trust the person who is selling the product. Think how often you have bought something at a local shop because you like the salesperson. They say that 80% of a doctor’s success has to do with their bedside manner!
As an internet marketer, you have to sell yourself. Present a picture of yourself (a true one of course!) that will help people to trust you.
That’s just a few thoughts about being an internet marketer that may be helpful especially to the person who is not sure whether he/she can do it or not.
