What Causes Acne Infection?
Acne is caused by overactive sebaceous glands, which produce oil beneath the surface of the skin. The skin has tiny pores, and when these pores become blocked acne develops. Most people are misinformed about acne, thinking that dirt is the cause. In fact excessive cleaning of the skin can damage the skin and spread acne faster. Other myths about acne revolve around sex and food habits. Being sexually active, or having bad food habits do not cause acne. Yes eating healthy wholesome food is good for the skin and can help improve acne, but not doing so or by eating oily, fatty and sweet food is not the cause for acne. Acne can be treated and prevented. You need to get the type of acne diagnosed by a dermatologist. Once the dermatologist has determined the cause of acne, he can help you treat and prevent it. treatment of acne will include taking medication and using topical creams. This allopathic treatment can be expensive and hence some people prefer home treatments and alternative treatments for acne infections. One of the main reasons why acne is so bothersome is because of the scarring. Scarring can also be treated and prevented by consultation with a dermatologist. Teenagers may have low self-esteem and confidence issues with the development of acne. Some are even severely depressed because of peer pressure and teasing. What these teens need to realize is that acne is a part of youth. And more importantly, it is a passing phase. Acne normally clears up by the age of 20-25.
