What He Says, He Doesn’t Mean: The Mccain Debate Statements Translated
And he did. Admittedly, his statements made news from live-bloggers, news commentators and to every citizen who sat and watched the debate. But as he has a history of making obviously-out-of-touch-reality-statements, one has to fathom what was really the deal. So, here are the unforgetable statements that he uttered last night and their underlying meanings. Just for precautionary measures, these are just my own interpretations, feel free to post your own. 1. “I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago” What he really wanted to say: Can’t you spell? And I’m older than him by almost 10 years, so I’m worst so I’m not him. You should have ran back then so that I would have an easier way of campaigning for this election. McCain should have said this in the previous debates. People would have been able to start to get over that notion. 2. “I think that Joe Biden is qualified in many respects. But I do point out that he’s been wrong on many foreign policy and national security issues, which is supposed to be his strength. He voted against the first Gulf War. He voted against it and, obviously, we had to take Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait or it would’ve threatened the Middle Eastern world supply. In Iraq, he had this cockamamie idea about dividing Iraq into three countries. We’re seeing Iraq united as Iraqis, tough, hard, but we’re seeing them. We’re now about to have an agreement for status of forces in Iraq coming up” What he really meant : How dare he voted against the Gulf war, I would have wanted to be there. I missed the sun. It quite odd that after his eight trips to Iraw he still doesn’t know that Iraq is actually divided into three groups: the Sunnis (al-Qaeda supporters included), Shiites (the new governing body, aligned with Iran) and the Kurds (warring with the Turks and aligned with Kurds in northern Iran). These are tribal hatreds that existed before Saddam Hussein and continue to exist. The bombings have been halted to some degree because Sunni are being paid to awakening council to push out the foreign extremists (Saudis, Syrians, Palestinians, Moroccans). When the money supply dries up, they’ll go back to bombing the Shiites and the Kurds will build their own nation, as they have been doing for the last half-century. 3. “Well, Americans have gotten to know Sarah Palin. They know that she’s a role model to women and other and reformers all over America. She’s a reformer.” What he’s really trying to say : I believe in speed dating. I fell for her and chose her after one meeting, so can you. He thought Palin will strengthen his political base, but as Obama reacted, she has given excitement. Will not dwell on her anymore so as to not make her the subject of further discussions. 4. “Mr. Ayers, I don’t care about an old washed-up terrorist. But as Sen. Clinton said in her debates with you, we need to know the full extent of that relationship. We need to know the full extent of Sen. Obama’s relationship with ACORN, who is now on the verge of maybe perpetrating one of the greatest frauds in voter history in this country, maybe destroying the fabric of democracy.” What is really in his heart: I can’t get over you, so I used this avenue as the first step to letting go and move on. He has been talking about Ayers for almost three weeks, move on, man. You deserve better. Again, if you have any other interpretations, feel free to say it here. Politics is always a good avenue for intelligent conversations. Deciphering his statements was quite an undertaking, but someone has to do it to enlighten the majority. He’s not the type that means what he really says, remember the time when he said that the Iraq war was about oil and then clarified it later? Or about his second take on gay adoption? He has experience, but does he have THE experience, well, you’ll be the judge of that when you vote.
