What Is The Base Chakra?

The chakras are known as the seven main energy centers of the body, and a well-balanced chakra system is said to aid in your physical and emotional health. The seven chakras are the base, or root chakra, the sacral, the solar plexus, heart, throat, and the third eye chakra. Each of these serve their function, but the base chakra is very important to the overall system and your spiritual well-being.

What Is The Base Chakra?

The root chakra is the first energy center in this important system. Located at the base of the spine, it is said to rule the spinal column, kidneys, legs and feet. Energy flows into the body through this energy center, and as such, it is related to our sense of security, groundedness, stability and sensuality.

An imbalance in this energy center can cause lack of focus, insecurity, self-pity and fearfulness. You may also experience anxiety about your basic survival needs, like having enough money or food to maintain your livelihood or concerns regarding happiness in your job or place of residence.

On the other hand, a root chakra that is properly balanced will encourage a sense of assertiveness, courage, strength of will, and a pioneering spirit. You will also have an easier time manifesting your dreams and ideas into physical reality, and will be more mentally and emotionally stable in times of change or upheaval.

Your root chakra can be balanced and healed in several different ways, including sound healing through crystal singing bowls. Take good care of your root chakra and you will ensure your physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being for life!
