What Lies Beneath The Christmas Tree

To ask what lies beneath might sound ominous, but as far as Christmas is concerned, only Christmas presents will be found underneath the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is features in a lot of Christmas carols. These carols actually date back to the Middle Ages. In the 13th century, these carols used to be sung just like any communal song. It was sung in other festivities and not just during Christmas. When Christianity became a dominant religion, these carols were no longer sung. However, in the 19th century, these were all revived. A few of these songs were initially printed in 1833.

The Christmas tree has an odd history as well. It was derived from Babylonian mythology when the goddess Isis or Semiramis noticed the growth of an evergreen tree on a dead stump. It was said that her husband and son, Nimrod, would leave personalised gifts underneath the tree on his birthdays. Nimrod’s birthday was December 25. Christmas as we know it is actually pagan in origin. Christmas carols, trees and the tradition of giving gifts are truly pagan in origin. Despite its history, Christmas is a much anticipated holiday for people young and old. It is the time of giving gifts and a time to have fun. Children usually have a Christmas break and adults do not have to work during that time either. So, what type of presents will you find underneath the Christmas tree? What are you giving your friends and relatives?

The best presents will definitely be those that a particular person can appreciate. If your grandparents will be spending Christmas at your place, you might want to give them a beautiful picture frame. Dual frames might be a good idea. There can be a picture of grandma in one and grandpa on the other. There are even digital picture frames which can be used to display digital photos. Technology may have made pictures on paper outdated, but picture frames continue to be used. If you must really give anyone another pair of socks, try to choose one with a unique design. There is a particular socks set that is quite unique called Billy Odd. With these socks, you will never have to worry about having holes on socks. You can interchange the striped pairs of socks from this set. This way, you will not have to throw away the whole pair when one sock gets a hole in it.
