What You Ought To Know About Drinking Water To Stay Hydrated

All life needs water. It is essential for humans to live. In fact no human can last more than a few days without water. This is because large portions of our body are made up of water and thus require additional water to maintenance and replenish the liquid.

The human brain is 95% water and all human lungs are 90% water. Blood is 82% water and courses through the entirety of the human body. It has been found that nearly 75% of all Americans suffer chronic mild dehydration. This is especially troubling because America is one of the countries most abundant in clean, drinkable water.

Most Americans are unaware of the health benefits of drinking water daily. Water is similar to oil for machines. It helps to lubricate the mechanics of the body and keep it running well.

Water also works as fuel for the body. Keeping well-hydrated helps to energize our body as well. This is because the body is totally composed of cells and all cells need water to function properly. Moreover, all joints require water to help lubricate bone movements.

The mouth uses water all the time to replenish saliva, which is made up almost entirely of water. Blood uses water to regulate the body's temperature and keep consistent, fluid circulation.

Organs like those found in the digestive system help regulate the ease of the moving food through the digestive tract and eliminate the subsequent waste.

Water also helps increase and regulates the body's metabolism, making it more efficient and giving the body bursts of energy. Water can also help the immune system and ward off serious diseases such as cancer of the bladder, colon, and breasts.

Humans require water every day. Although many people are unaware of this, humans need at least 10 to 12 cups of water every day just for basic bodily functions such as perspiration, breathing, and digestion.

Not drinking enough water leads to dehydration which can develop into a number of symptoms and eventually serious illness. It is unfortunate that so many people go without daily water because compared to most other beverages water is very cheap. The cost of six cans of soda is the same amount as nearly 4,000 glasses of tap water.

If you drank 10 glasses of water daily, then that would be over a year's worth of water. Many experts, however, disagree on how much water humans need to drink every day. Some experts believe that people need to drink at least eight glasses of water daily.

Other people believe that this is insufficient for larger people and that people should drink a glass of water for every 20 pounds of their weight. Most experts agree that athletes and labor workers require much more water than the rest.

A good way to gauge hydration is to inspect the color of urine. The more clear urine is, the more well-hydrated the person is. Most experts agree that pale yellow urine is a good indication that a person is well-hydrated. In short, water is important for the body.

Water helps keep bodies hydrated. Hydrated bodies stand a better chance against many illnesses and disorders. Hydration also combats exhaustion, hypertension, and other sicknesses that affect the immune system. Water can help remove toxins from the body and absorb nutrients into the body.

Hydrated kidneys filter the body more easily, which keeps the liver clean of waste and the body free of toxins. A cleaner liver metabolizes fat more quickly and effectively, allowing the body to perform with greater ease. By drinking more water, the body essentially regulates itself. It is an easy and important way to keep the body healthier.

If you are an active person, it is even more important you drink lots of water to replenish all the moisture lost from your daily activity. Drinking lots of water, together with a balanced diet are keys to having a healthy body. But how do we know if our daily meals are balanced?
