What Acne Is All About?

The commonest skin problem that the teenagers and the adolescents suffer from is acne. This is a type of skin disorder which surfaces on the facial skin as whiteheads or blackheads, lesions, zits or pimples. Apart from the face, it can occur in the chest, neck and the back portion of a teenager or an adolescent’s body. On an average, six out of ten youngsters suffer from this skin ailment at some point of their life. It can leave scar marks on the skin if the outbreak is severe and this may prove to be embarrassing for some people. There are some treatments like vitamin or zinc treatment for acne but people can also try out some home remedies.


What Causes Acne?
Though the home remedies of acne are there but one should know how he or she can avoid this menace. Acne is mainly caused by improper eating habits as well as chronic constipation. If you eat excessive starch and tons of sugar you become vulnerable to acne. Fatty and fried foods are the two things that need to be avoided in this context. Acne can also be caused by too much consumption of alcohol, coffee or tea. Smoking is another culprit that can cause acne. So the consumption of these things should be minimized if one wants to avoid acne.

The home remedies for acne can be applied depending on the state of the acne on one’s skin. These treatments are meant to stop or reduce the spread of acne in other parts of the face or the body. A chemical called benzoyl peroxide can be used to treat acne in liquid form. It stops further outbreak of acne in the affected person’s skin. As an alternative measure, oral medicines can also be used for treating acne. However, it is a well proven fact that acne cure is best effected by home remedies.

Some home remedies for acne
There are some fruits and herbs that have therapeutic and healing properties. They can also be used as home remedies to treat acne. They are cucumber, garlic and orange. Orange peel paste can aid in healing acne. Alternatively, fenugreek paste can also be used on the affected spot on one’s skin. Besides applying external medicine, the body’s internal system needs to be kept in shape.

For this purpose, consumption of vegetables and fruits and lots of water is required. These home based therapies for acne are known to be safe. However, make sure that you are not allergic to any of these fruits or vegetables before you use them.

Another home based remedy for acne is the herb called Turmeric. It is anti bacterial by nature. It has a long heritage of being used in the ancient times. It has proven medicinal qualities. Another acne treatment product is the Japanese rooibos tea. Lemon juice is also said to be effective in curing acne.

While there are several home made therapies for acne only applying them is not enough. One should follow the treatment with appropriate diets and avoid food that lead to skin rashes.
